Bob Turner gets court order impounding non-regular NY-9 ballots

A reader passes this along. It looks very similar to one that Jane Corwin filed in a recent Upstate Congressional special election. Update: So I got off the phone with the lawyer who filed this case, and they’re impounding the non-regular ballots (i.e. absentee & provisional) because of “gross incompetence” on behalf of the Board of Elections, citing “absentee ballots being mailed to dead people and people who did not request them.”

Etheridge can't overcome Ellmers' lead in recount

Raleigh, N.C. — Republican Renee Ellmers has unseated veteran Congressman Bob Etheridge, according to unofficial results of a recount in the tight race. Etheridge, a seven-term Democrat, picked up six votes on Ellmers after voting results from 10 counties were tabulated a second time, but it was nowhere near enough to overcome her 1,489-vote lead following the Nov. 2 election.
